If we see widespread airline cancellations due to weather or other factors, our staff calls the airlines to tell them if we have availability for distressed passengers. More than 80 percent of the guests staying at the Four Points by Sheraton Boston Logan Airport hotel travel through nearby Logan International Airport. General Manager, Michael Buddemeyer wanted to provide his traveling guests with an amenity they would value. “I previously opened a Hilton Garden Inn airport property that had a flight information display called FlyteBoard. It was a great amenity. When we purchased our Four Points by Sheraton at Boston Logan I wanted to give our guests the same convenience of knowing their flight status before they left the hotel.”

The FlyteBoard digital flight information display shows real-time arrivals, departures and gate information for one or more airports. Many properties also add Doppler Radar Weather to FlyteBoard for guest convenience. FlyteBoard may also display property promotion graphics and other revenue generating information.

Flyte Systems tapped its parent company, Industrial Television Services (ITS), for an expanded product line of digital signage solutions for hospitality and related businesses. At HITEC in New Orleans, June 20 – 23, Flyte Systems will showcase a family of advanced display services that go beyond hotel flight information to smooth the travel experience. Topping Flyte Systems’ innovation list is the Mobile Message Manager, which lets authorized staff update digital signage guest messaging anywhere, anytime from any mobile device.
